OUR STORY
Our family’s health journey has taken us to more than 50 doctors and many of the top hospitals across the East Coast. For over 25 years, we searched tirelessly for answers for our three children, who struggled with Lyme disease, mold illness, and toxic environmental exposures.
In the summer of 2014—during one of the most difficult periods in their health—we made the life‑changing decision to sell our home in Maryland and relocate to Tampa, Florida. Shortly after arriving, our doctors emphasized how critical it is for healing to take place in a home that is mold‑free, chemical‑free, and supported by clean, healthy water.
We purchased what we believed was a safe home built in 2006. But just a few months later, during treatment, we had the property evaluated by a certified mold inspector—only to discover mold growing inside both air‑conditioning systems. That experience opened our eyes even further to how hidden environmental issues can undermine healing.
During this time, we met countless families who had traveled from around the world to the Tampa Bay area seeking medical treatment. Far too often, these families found themselves staying in hotels or rental homes filled with mold, chemicals, or poor air quality—conditions that made them sicker and disrupted their treatment progress. Witnessing this again and again made it clear: patients and their families need safe, healthy places to stay during treatment.
That realization became the foundation of Healthier Stay™.
Our mission is to be Patient Advocates, providing safe, healthy, wellness‑focused housing for individuals and families seeking care. Because the first step toward healing is simple but vital: stop the exposure.
Over the past 15+ years, we have dedicated ourselves to learning how to create truly healthy living environments—spaces with the right balance of clean air, clean water, low EMFs, and reduced toxic burden. We have researched, tested, collaborated, and built relationships with leading experts and trusted manufacturers to ensure that every Healthier Stay™ property meets the highest standard of wellness.

It was a sense of comfort knowing that it was mold free, The Air Purifier in the unit I know helps build a healthy Immune System. We loved the filtered drinking water and knowing the shower had a filter system on it. The EMF. Electromagnetic Field devises to cover the cable box is genius. I used the Fitness Center and Swimming Pool a lot and loved the fact it was never crowded. Dunedin has some great healthy restaurants nearby. Todd and Julie Lovinger were efficient in overseeing the apartment. They are also a wealth of information about Chronic Lyme Disease and Co-Infections and toxins.”
